Measured Building Surveys

What Is It?

A measured building survey is a detailed plan of a building. It comprises of different elements such as floor plans, elevations, cross section, reflected ceiling plans and roof plans.

Do I Need a Measured Building Survey?

The accurate dimensions, layout or volume of a building are needed for many purposes. Such as refurbishment or redevelopment, facilities management or services layout, valuation or taxation, interior design layout, modelling or visualisation, licensing requirements, and the sale, acquisition and leasing of buildings.

How Is It Carried Out?

Measurement technology has advanced greatly over the years and site work is carried out in a fraction of the time it used to take. The majority of the external measurements of a building are taken remotely with the laser function on our Leica Total Station instruments. Sometimes, if the building is complex or irregular shaped the instrument will be brought inside to gather further measurements, if not the internal survey is sketched up with a Disto and tape measure.
