The site was a large rural site comprising farm house, agricultural buildings and arable land. It also contained a small woodland area and a stream. The owners instructed building surveyors to produce a master plan for the site for its use over the next 25 years. Aimcon Surveys were instructed to produce a topographical survey and an underground utility survey.

Case Study 8 – Underground Utilities Survey (Oundle, Northamptonshire) Caterham main

The utility survey was in accordance with TSA Level 4 and is the industry standard specification for utility surveys.

Where more detail is required a TSA level 5 or 6 can be specified (a level 6 can also referred to as PAS:128 specification).

The survey was carried out by lifting all gullies and covers. Drainage routes were traced by Flexitrace sonding.

Cables and metallic services were traced by passive sweep methods with a Ridgid SR20 RFL and GPR was used for non-metallic services and underground anomalies, all data was interpreted on site. The utilities survey was then overlaid onto the topographical survey.

The survey was delivered in DWG and PDF
